The next senior spotlight will be highlighting Genet Nies.
Genet was born in Ethiopia and has lived in Sartell since she was 5. She started her education at Pine Meadow Elementary school. She is a very outgoing person that loves to talk to everyone. Genet loves to spend time with friends and going to events.
She has prioritized staying active throughout her entire life.
Genet has been playing soccer since she was 8. She has spent time on various teams and played on Varsity from 10th to 12th grade. She also played on a couple club teams including CMYSA, Sartell and Great River SC in Monticello. Genet was a right wing and enjoyed the time she spent bonding with her team.
She also enjoys running and was a part of both cross country and track. Genet ran cross country from 6th to 8th grade, before she switched over to soccer. She has spent the most time on the Sartell track team starting at 6th grade and continuing through her senior year. She runs the 800, the mile, and the 4×4. She will be continuing her track career at Concordia St. Paul in the fall of 2024.
Outside of her various sports she loves to go shopping, sit by her pool and hangout with friends and family. She also loves to spend time traveling and some of the amazing places she has been to include Italy, DR, and Costa Rica. Genet will be spending her senior spring break in Hawaii.
