Art is a beautiful way to express one’s feelings and put emotions, depth, and shape into one’s art.
Although as beautiful as it is, we then get into the subject of HOW artists make what they love. Well, then we get into the subject of inspiration.
Inspiration comes from many different things like pictures, paintings, digital art, and many more. However as nice as it sounds, many people don’t know the difference between inspiration and stealing/tracing another’s artwork.
What is not considered inspiration is taking someone’s art and tracing it without giving credit and heavily referencing another artist’s work.
Tracing is only beneficial to newer artists to start getting the feel of doing coloring books or tracing a picture from the internet for yourself and not for others to see. Tracing is only GOOD if you doing it to get better and not posting it online claiming it as your own. Almost everyone starts with tracing; it’s how an artist becomes an artist. Once you’ve practiced tracing, you can start drawing from what you traced but on a different piece of paper without actually tracing. You can look at the drawing and “reference” it, but the new piece is completely done with your own skill.
Inspiration comes from other people’s artwork and taking certain pieces of theirs and putting it toward your own. I think though, as of recent years, many younger children getting into art aren’t as creative.
Children getting into art or anyone getting into art will search for an image online to draw and just trace it from there without any credit given, but how do we fix this? How can we help new artists get inspired?
Creativity has been decreasing and not a lot of newer artists are getting inspired enough. From my perspective, there is not as much thought and effort put into art as there was 30-50 years ago. Some artists think it’s the fault of AI and technology that started making kids uninterested in being creative. Some hypothesize that kids would rather draw from a drawing online than use their imagination and inspiration.
AI has had a huge impact on artists. As more and more AI art apps are made, fewer people want to do original art. However, the reason why so many artists are upset is because this AI art takes millions of people’s art online without credit to create a new form of art which is stealing millions of art pieces from the internet.
AI is becoming more advanced and the more advanced it becomes, the more people question whether actual artists’ art is real or just AI which has taken a toll on actual artists that take their time to create new artwork.
Can you add what should be done about it? What do I do to fix this? How can non-artists support artists? Can you also add some hyperlinks/research that other people have done on this subject? It gives your opinion more emphasis if you have research to back it up.
