Being released during complicated times revolving around health, Animal Crossing New Horizons became a massive hit with audiences big and small.
First things first, Animal Crossing New Horizons was released on March 20th, 2020. It is the fifth main installment for the particular Animal Crossing video game series. The game revolves around the player arriving at a deserted island along with five animals for companionship. You gather supplies for the arrival celebration and get to name your destination through a voting system. Don’t worry about not getting the name you want for the island, as all of the animals will vote for your island name. After the prologue, the player can pay off their debt in order to make a house and make the house bigger, customize the island hill to shore, make D.I.Y. furniture, build shops and a museum, convince other villagers to move into your island, all for a K.K. Slider concert once your island gets a three-star rating out of five!
With the basics of the game out of the way, let’s get to the review!
Animal Crossing New Horizons is a major upgrade from New Leaf! There are still some sort of Public Works Projects, but now you can place indoor furniture outside. So if you want to decorate your beach, you can place beach chairs outdoors now!
Some of the animals in the game are really cute! For example, Tybalt is a jock tiger who loves sports. He’s really passionate about his goals and interests. One time I gave him a surfboard for his birthday, and Tybalt said that his eye muscles were sweating. What I think Tybalt might have meant was that he was crying in joy.
There are new clothes to try on in New Horizons. Dresses and kimonos now have physics so that they look realistic rather than looking curvy. Check out my character rocking out their yukata! A yukata is like a kimono but for festivals. At the time this photo was taken, a fireworks show was about to take place.
Overall, I would rate Animal Crossing New Horizons a nine-point five out of ten. The reason is that not every game is perfect, but I think that this installment is a grand upgrade.
Not related to the game, but I apologize for not being able to make a craft. Since the first quarter is the only quarter I have for journalism, I hope that somebody can continue my Crafty Corner. With the review finished, I am Sam Simpson-Prijatel, and farewell!
