Continuing the cycle of new words of the week, Sartell Slang is back. SHS is the best place to be introduced to new slang terms since current students continue to use slang in almost every conversation to shorten their words.

Chill

Pronunciation: chil

Merriam-Webster definition:  a sensation of cold accompanied by shivering

Examples:

“Grandma brought dinner, it needs to be kept in the fridge to be chilled.”

“He woke up this morning with the chills.”

 

Chill

High Schooler Definition: used to describe someone or something cool; hang out; calm down

Examples:

“Wanna chill later?”

“Do you want to get food? That’s chill.”
