Tuesday, September. 19, 2023, a drunk driver crashed into a Sartell resident’s backyard while running from police at over 100 mph.
45-year-old Kevin Johnstone was then arrested after the crash. Kevin was suspected of third-degree driving while intoxicated and fleeing the police. His official indictment and injury have not yet been released.
At 8:05 pm a Sartell office suspected a driver of drunk driving on Stearns County Rd 1 heading north. After the officer noticed the truck swerving in and out of lanes, he attempted to pull him over when he then ran from the pursuing officer.
About one mile into the pursuit the driver lost control of his truck at over 100 mph almost hitting an oncoming car before rolling off the road and into a Sartell resident’s backyard.
