Piers Morgan invited Ye, also most commonly known as Kanye West, to the Piers Morgan Uncensored program to make conversation on various topics in October of 2022.

Morgan asked Ye if he is sad that Kim Kardashian divorced him, after Kim filed for divorce in February 2021, following six years of marriage. Ye said “I may be divorced on paper but I’m not divorced of the idea of being the protector. Her name is no longer West. And my name is now only Ye. If we were ever to be together again, what would our name be? Kimye?”.

Morgan asked Ye if he still loves Kim which Ye said “I will love her for life, and oddly enough I will protect her.” The interview did escalate at certain points when Ye asked Morgan “Piers, how much money are you worth?” Morgan admitted “Not as much as you, unfortunately”. Ye responded with “Exactly, so take my advice and maybe you’ll get richer. Why would I listen to you?”.

Refusing to back down, Piers replied “I’m not a Karen and I’m not going to cancel or censor you. I’m simply going to challenge you and say I don’t think you realize the pain you’ve caused with some of these comments.”
