Nashville isn’t just for music; it’s for hockey too

This past week, my family and I spent the weekend in Nashville, Tennessee for a hockey tournament my brother was playing in! Devin plays on a Minnesota Selects team called Northstar Elite where they travel around the country playing different elite teams in tournaments. The teams are from all over the world and consist of players from many different areas. My sister and I love to tag along for Devo’s games and seem to get just as rowdy as the boys do!

The weekend started off on Friday morning with a 3-0 game win and then continued on to another win later that afternoon which was much closer. The game went into overtime and ended in a shootout where the other team took the win from us.

Early Saturday morning, we played a very good team, which turned out to be a very fun hockey game to watch. The game went back and forth and ended up going overtime. The game score was 7-7 heading into OT and with the boys playing 3 on 3 to try to clutch up the win, we controlled the game and ended up scoring for the OT win.

The team adventured out to Top Golf after the game to celebrate the big win of the day. After watching some of the boys’ golf, we came to the conclusion that the boys should probably just stick to hockey…

Sunday, the boys played one more game that was against a Canadian team and was by far the most fun game to be a spectator at. The boys played hard and the fast-paced game ended with a 1-2 loss and also a fight. The French Canadians do not speak much English and are very aggressive players, so lots of chirping took place that our boys couldn’t completely understand, other than “I’m gonna break your face!”

We went out to Broadway to celebrate the fun weekend it had been and went to explore the Nashville area. We found lots of fun places to eat, boutiques and shopping areas, and many very talented people pursuing their dreams!
