Former boxing heavyweight champion Vitali Klitchsko and hall of fame brother Wladmir came out and said they are ready to fight, following the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The whole country is in shock following this crazy news. Vladmir Putin declared war on Ukraine last Thursday.  According to Abc. com an estimated 500,000 people have already fled the country. As far as death tolls go, Aljazeera reported that “Ukraine’s health ministry said on Sunday that at least 352 civilians, including 14 children, have been killed since the Russian invasion began.”

Vitali Klitchsko has been the mayor of Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv since 2014.

I don’t have another choice, I have to do that. I’ll be fighting.

— Vitali Klitchsko

Vitalis’s brother, Wladmir who was also a former heavyweight boxing champion enlisted in Ukraine’s reserve army at the start of this month, stating that his love for the country made him feel obligated to go and fight.

The Ukrainian people are strong. And it will remain true to itself in this terrible ordeal. A people longing for sovereignty and peace. A people who consider the Russian people their brothers

— Wladmir Klitchsko

When their number is called the Klitchsko brothers will be ready.
