Q: How does it feel to be freshman royalty?

A: Very different. I didn’t expect to get it.

Q:How was the switch from middle school to high school?

A: The switch from middle school to high school has been very different. In high school, you have much more independence and teachers have higher expectations, which I think is a good thing. Although so far I think high school is going to be a very fun experience, and I am excited to see what happens in the next four years!

Q: How is high school different from middle school?

A: So far in high school, I like that the students have more choice and independence and you are able to choose your own path you want to go instead of getting put into classes you may not be interested like how middle school was. I also love the environment the school has and how inviting everyone is, although at football games it’s a different story haha. Let’s just say our grade needs to get better at cheering!

Q:What activities are you involved in?

A: I’m in volleyball. I started playing volleyball in fourth grade and ever since then, I have loved the sport. I enjoy the speed of the game and how I have grown so close to my teammates that they are like sisters to me. Volleyball has been a huge part of my life, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. If I’m ever having a bad day, I know I can look forward to practice because I know my team will be there for me and I can forget about everything else happening and just play.

Q:Opinion on… your sisters?

A: We get along very well. I like them. In my family, I have a little sister who is 9 years old and is in fourth grade. I also have two older step sisters, one is 20 years old and is going to St. Cloud Technical College for nursing and the other is 18 years old and recently graduated high school from Sauk Rapids.

Q:Who is your best friend?

A: Makenna Hauck.

Q:Do you have any big dreams for after high school?

A: To travel a lot.

Q: Favorite song or artist?

A: Khalid. I think Khalid’s music is very catchy and the lyrics in his music is very down to earth and relatable. Over the summer I went to one of his concerts in the cities with my friend Makenna, and it was a very good concert.

Q: Do you have any hobbies outside of sports and school?

A: I like to be outside and hang out with my friends.

Q: Do you have any advice for other high school students?

A: Just try hard.
