Terrorists bomb a church in the Sri Lankan city of Negombo.

On Tuesday, April 23rd, Sri Lankan students at St. Cloud State planned an afternoon vigil for the 253 victims of the church bombing terrorist attack.

Almost 300 Sri Lankan students have graduated from the university over the years. Anushka Hewarathna, president of the Ayubowan Sri Lanka Organization on campus, says, “As Sri Lankan students living thousands of miles away from Sri Lanka, we want to show our country that we have a community that will support them even though we are thousands of miles away”

The vigil was held 4-4:30 p.m. outside Atwood Memorial Center on the Atwood Porch, facing Ritsche Auditorium.

St. Cloud and area community members were invited to attend the vigil.
