The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres had a huge win on Monday, May 4th, 2026, beating the Cambridge Blue Jackets 10-6 after a strong start and staying in control the whole game.
They came out ready right away, scoring four runs in the first inning. Big hits from Mateo Segura, Miles Simonsen, and Matthew Schreiner got things going early and gave the Sabres a lot of energy. They didn’t slow down in the second either, adding three more runs thanks to Segura, Trevor Schlangen, and Keaton Landowski.
By the third inning, Sartell was still playing dominantly, leading the scoreboard. Nolan Hemker hit a two-run single, and Segura added another run with a sacrifice fly, helping build a momentum that Cambridge couldn’t catch up to.
On the mound, Emmitt Hemmesch pitched a solid game and got the win. He kept things under control and didn’t let the other team take over.
Segura stood out offensively, going 2 for 3 and bringing in three runs. The team had a total of nine hits and also showed patience at the plate with six walks.
One of the biggest things that helped Sartell win was their speed. They were super aggressive on the bases and ended up with eight stolen bases, putting a lot of pressure on the defense.
Overall, it was a powerful and well-earned win for the boys. Sartell started fast, stayed confident, and played smart all game to secure the victory.
