The NFL draft is a spectacle among all sports fans. Hundreds of thousands of people come out to support their favorite teams and the investments they make in the future. People dress up in support and cheer when their team selects their next hopeful superstar. This year, the draft class has been considered to have a ton of talent and be a deep draft when it comes to how people believe they will turn out. There are many questions to be answered this weekend. Some of these include… How many quarterbacks will go in the first round? How high will Notre Dame’s superstar running back be taken? And, who will it be this year to fall down the draft board?
It is pretty much a foregone conclusion that Indiana Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza will go number one overall to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders hope that this will flip their franchise around for the better and turn them into a contender. Mendoza looks to be the real deal when it comes to managing a game and making plays in the clutch.

After the number 1 pick, it is a lot more unknown how the field will go. At number two, it seems to be a consensus that the New York Jets will go defense and bolster their team that way. A lot of people also think that the Arizona Cardinals will go defense as well, but there is a chance that they take a wide receiver with the pick as well. A good guess for those two picks seems to be David Bailey and possibly Ruben Bain or Carnell Tate. The Tennessee Titans have the 4th overall pick and seem to need a running back very badly. It also really seems like they are looking to take superstar prospect Jeremiah Love at that pick. Love has had an outstanding college career the last couple of years, and there’s no doubt he can be a good running back at the NFL level. With the 5th pick, which the New York Giants hold, it seems that the prediction is for them to go with a wide receiver to bolster their young offense that already has Jaxon Dart, Cam Skattebo, Malik Nabers, and a young offensive line as well.

After the top five picks, it’s a bit harder to predict what each team wants because you don’t know who is going to get picked before other teams want to grab them. Also, it’s very hard to predict trades because there’s just no way to know what’s gonna happen. Every year, we usually see someone trade up in the first round with a team that wants to sell on that pick for more draft capital. This year should be no different.

Overall, this year is an interesting class of prospects because it is not quarterback-heavy at all. With one quarterback at the top and maybe one more to go in the first or second round, that leaves so much unpredictability. The class is also very deep when it comes to the defensive front seven, which means a lot of good defensive linemen and linebackers. Wide Receivers will also be at a premium on Thursday night because of the high-caliber wide receivers at the top, but the eventual drop-off in talent when you get into days two and three of the draft.
