Playing Career
Cooper Flagg was the #1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. He signed with the team in July and made his NBA debut in October, recording a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. He also started the game as a point guard, showing his ability to handle the ball and contribute in multiple ways.
Flagg had a strong rookie season and broke many “youngest player” records, passing marks set by LeBron James. He scored 25+ points at a very young age, became the youngest to record 10 assists in a game, and early on scored a career-high 35 points. He later dropped 42 points, becoming the youngest to score 40+ in a game, and improved even more after switching positions.
As the season went on, Flagg made even more history. He scored 49 points (the most ever by a teenager at the time), had three straight 30-point games, and then scored 51 points; the youngest player ever to reach 50+. He also had back-to-back 40-point games, something not done by a rookie since Allen Iverson, and finished with more 40-point games as a teenager than LeBron.
Future Potential
Cooper Flagg has really high future potential. He’s already breaking records and playing like a star at such a young age. He can score, pass, and rebound, which makes him an all-around player. If he keeps getting better and stays consistent, he could easily become one of the top players in the NBA, maybe even win MVP or lead his team to a championship someday.
