The St. Cloud Crossroads Center just added a new addition to their mall, Schmidty’s Soda Shop! My friends and I decided to try it for the first time after it just opened in early March, 2026.
Similar to the popular Sota Shop located in Maple Grove, it is specialized to customize soda and other drinks with unique flavors and syrups.
When we walked in, the place had a fun welcoming vibe with bright colors and a menu full of creative drink options. There were many combinations to choose from, which made it a little hard to decide. The menu gave options to mix different sodas with flavors and creams. They had two sizes, a 24oz and a 32oz with no small size. The sizing was one flaw, because I think they should have a smaller option, since some people might not want all that soda and sugar, considering many people only drink one 12oz soda can with no added cream and syrups.
Us taste testers tried to all get something different, so we could get an invoice on more creations rather than just one drink. With that being said here is what we all got either custom or a pre-made one with a certain name…
After we all tried our drinks we gave a rating out of 10:

Liv – “I think I should’ve maybe gotten something else, because I can’t taste the raspberry or coconut very well, I am a little disappointed. 7/10”

Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the set up. One thing that stood out to us, was how many different options and all the options were customizable. However, there were a few flaws to our experience. First when we walked in, the workers were not super welcoming or inviting. Also, compared to the other soda shop we visited to in Maple Grove, Minnesota, the prices were a bit more expensive. Despite the flaws, we liked the place and it was a fun new place to check out. Whether you like sweet, fruity, or creamy drinks, there is definitely something for everyone.
