A new House of Pizza is opening in early March inside Coborn’s on Pinecone Road in Sartell, bringing a familiar local pizza restaurant into a grocery store setting for Sartell residents, families, and students. This article explores what the new location is, who it’s for, where it’s opening, when it launches, and why it matters because it shows how local businesses are adapting to convenience focused lifestyles and could change where teenagers eat, work, and spend time.
House of Pizza has been around since 1964 and was founded by Bob Testa, who created a downtown pizza shop in St. Could. The restaurant quickly became a staple in central Minnesota and the St. Cloud area with their thin-crust, and soda pizza experience. “Since our start we’ve won countless awards and are consistently ranked the best pizza in Minnesota.” The owner Brandon Testa has always worked for other people in his high school days, but always knew he wanted to work for himself, so right out of college when he came back to Minnesota in 1998 thats when it started.
The new House of Pizza will be placed at 1725 Pine Cone Road South inside the Coborn’s Marketplace. where customers will be able to enjoy their pizza as part of a sit down meal or grab their favorite pizzas to go. according to a website from the companies involved. Officials from both companies say that the new partnership combines quality food with convenience, allowing customers to enjoy a meal without having to leave the grocery store. Although there is no official opening date, the restaurant is set to open in early March.
Local residents of Sartell are very eager for the return, as the original house of pizza was a staple in the community for gathering and connecting socially. Reintroducing a local dining and drinking spot can boost more one stop experiences where customers can pick up groceries and enjoy meals, such as dinner, or a quick lunch. Brandon reported that “It will be a limited menu, but the experience, and the location will very similar, like the same colors and branding.”
