Saturday, January 24, at the Grand Casino Arena, the Minnesota Wild played the Florida Panthers with a final score of 3-4. The Wild took a tough loss, but the Wild are looking to be a good playoff contender.
The Minnesota Wild came up just short in overtime. The first period was pretty intense, with the Panthers scoring first just 6:43 in. Sam Reinhart started the scoring off with an assist from Aaron Ekblad.
The Wild respond with a power-play goal by Joel Eriksson Ek, assisted by Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy, with 10:43 left in the first period. The Panthers score late in the first with a power-play goal scored by Brad Marchand, assisted by Sam Bennett from the dump-in by Sam Reinhart. The Panthers take the lead late in the first.

The Wild start the scoring off in the second period with a power-play goal by Joel Eriksson Ek, with an assist by Kirill Kaprizov and Quinn Hughes. The second period was a little crazy with a nice fight between Wild’s Jake Middleton and Panthers A.J. Greer with 7:59 remaining in the period.
Matt Boldy scored an unassisted short-handed goal in the third period to put the Wild up 3-2. The Panthers tie it up after a power-play goal by Sam Bennett, assisted by Matthew Tkachuk and Brad Marchand, with 6:49 remaining in the third period.
