The Sartell book club has been a growing club that works to keep the love of books alive is students in our high school. The advisor is Mrs. Benson and presidents are Kiera Meemken, Addison St. Sauever, and Addison Athey-Wandersee. If your looking for a way to involve yourself at our school the book club could be the match for you!
The club meets on monthly on Tuesdays to talk about the current books they are reading. This month they are reading “A Forgery of Fate”. They read one book a month and also will be doing a read-a-thons, which is a contest to see how many books each member can read in a certain amount of time which will also help to fundraise for their club. The book club also reads book that match the different seasons, they will be starting a Christmas read soon!
Something special about the Sartell book club is that they make sure to be reading “trending books”. The club only chooses books to read that are less than 5 years old. This makes for entertaining and relatable reads. The book club also buys their own books so you never ave to spend a penny! Another fun part about book club is that they have fun snacks and lots of Bubbl’r at every meeting to go along with activities. An example of an activity they have done, is a scavenger hunt finding mini giraffe figurines to go along with the book that month which was “West with The Giraffes”.
If this club sounds like it might be for you, reach out to one of the members or the advisor Mrs. Benson! They currently only have girls in their club but are open to both boys and girls. Their are 28 members and the club is free to join at any time of the year!
