Massachusetts is an amazing place with so much history. I have been there twice, and have loved it both times. The reason I went was for a hockey tournament. Though we didn’t do as well as we hoped in the tournament, I had so much fun. I made countless memories with my teammates that I will forever remember.

To Massachusetts, I traveled with my friend Natasha Ludwig and her mom Amanda. We stayed in MA from July 22nd-29th. First, we stayed in Salem and toured many places. These included ghost tours, The House of Seven Gables, The Witch House at Salem, and Salem Witch Museum. While touring these places, I learned so much about the history of Salem. The Salem witch trials is the biggest part of Salem. The trials are a defining example of intolerance and injustice, showcasing the dangers of mass hysteria, group opinion, and failure of the justice system. The events began in late February 1692 and lasted through April 1693. At least 25 people died: 19 were executed by hanging, 1 was tortured to death, and at least 5 died in jail due to harsh conditions. In total about 16o people were accused of witchcraft, and most were denied their legal rights.

While in Massachusetts, I had the luxury of trying a large variety of food. From fish to burgers, everything tasted amazing. Almost every night we went out to eat, and that is something I am very grateful for. Being able to have the opportunity and money to try many things is a great thing!
