Leading up to the pageant
The week before the pageant was all about pageant prep. The girls would be taken on a tour of Sartell, where they visited the Sartell community center, police station, fire station, and city hall. On this tour, they learned valuable information about their city and upcoming plans. During their pageant preparation, they also learned how to communicate effectively, conduct a successful interview, be confident in themselves, and walk in heels (which is harder than it looks). The candidates also took part in the Princeton Parade on June 5th, where they got to see what it is like firsthand to be royalty. The girls also attended the Sartell Chamber meeting, where they had the opportunity to connect with respected members of the community. Princess Day was another fun event the girls participated in as they did hair, made wands, read stories, and put on temporary tattoos with little girls from all over the community. With a week of prep, the candidates were prepared for the pageant.
Pageant day
Pageant day was full of excitement, butterflies, and eagerness to see who would be crowned the new Miss Sartell Royalty. The day started off strictly business in the morning as the candidates dressed in their most professional attire to be interviewed in front of a judges’ panel. Each girl went in one by one to be asked a series of questions to see if she would be a good fit for the crown. As each girl went in, the candidates cheered each other on with hugs and saying “You got this.” Each contestant did fantastically and showcased their unique personalities in the panel interview. Later in the afternoon is when the fun part of the pageant started. The candidates started off the night by doing an energetic dance routine choreographed by the reigning Miss Sartell Royalty: Reagan, Lily, and Chloe. The girls then came back on stage in their classy black dresses to introduce themselves to the crowd and shout out their sponsors. Following this, each candidate did an elegant walk across the stage in their best gown while Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum shares bios on each girl that showcases their interests and hobbies. After each girl walked, they came back on stage for an on-stage impromptu question where they pulled a question from a bucket to answer in front of the audience. Following this, little girls came up on stage to receive their crowns and share their favorite princess. Crowning was next up as the candidates all shared the stage hand in hand, supporting each other no matter the outcome. The first award given out was the “Miss Congeniality Award,” and this was given to Sophie Heathcote. The second award was the “Evening Gown Award,” and Jenna Jansky received this award. Now it was time for the naming of the Princesses and Miss Sartell. The first princess crowned was Sophie Heathcote. She received her crown with excitement and poise. The next princess crowned was Kaylee Grove! Kaylee received her crown with a ray of sunshine on her face. The next title would be the title of Miss Sartell, and that was given to Jenna Jansky. The three girls embraced in a big hug with flowers in their hands and hearts full. Lots of photos were taken following the coronation by proud family members and friends.
Crowning moments

Their year so far
Right after the new royalty was crowned, they participated in their first event, the Sartell Summerfest Parade and city get-together! The parade was full of excitement as the new royalty was debuted for the first time. The girls sat on their gorgeous float and waved down to the excited citizens below. Following the parade, they ran games and inflatables at the Sartell community center. Their summer was spent attending parades both near and far, coronations, community events, and building strong relationships with people in the community. Some of the parades they attended were the Sauk Rapids River Days parade, Nisswa Freedom Days parade, Joetown Rocks parade, Country Manor parade, Saint Michael Parade, Foley Fun Days parade, Milaca parade, and more. The girls also had the opportunity to go to the Monticello coronation and the Sauk Rapids coronation. For fun, the girls attended Sparkle Night at the Minnesota Twins game, Princeton Speedway, and a Wild game. The royalty made an appearance at the Minnesota State Fair as well. Service plays a huge role in these titles as the girls volunteered at the Benton County Fair at the bingo stand, face painted and did crazy hair at National Night Out, ran games at Sartell Summerfest, and more. The opportunities are truly endless, and the girls are so thankful for their amazing directors for making every opportunity possible.
