Sister of NBA star Naz Reid, Toraya Reid was murdered on September 6th in Jackson Township, New Jersey.

Toraya Reid (28) suffered multiple gunshot wounds from her boyfriend Shaquille Green (29) in a apartment complex. Green claimed he believed Reid was cheating on him with another man. Green believed he saw a man leaving her apartment on the morning of September 6th leading to him suspecting her of having a relationship with another man.

Reid was found in her apartment complex at around 11:00 am after locals reported gunshots. She was determined unresponsive and announced dead at the scene.

Shaquille Green was arrested that day and taken to Ocean County jail and is awaiting trial. Green used a 10mm Glock 20 and 4 bullet casings were found on the scene. Green is being charged with 3 charges. First degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. There is no publicly announced trial date.

Younger brother of Toraya, Naz won 6th man of the year in 2024 and recently agreed to a 5-year $125 million deal making him the 5th highest paid player on the Timberwolves. Naz has not released any statements on her death but shared childhood images of him and his siblings in her memory.
