The Minnesota Vikings had their home opening game this Sunday, September 14th vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
The Vikings had a great season opener vs the Chicago Bears for their first game of the season. The Vikings were able to pull away at the end with a win with the score of 27-24 vs. the Bears. Week 2 vs. the Falcons we took a brutal loss 6-22 with only one touchdown scored in the entire game by the Falcons.
This week the Vikings took on the Falcons who the Vikings ended up taking a loss to. Rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy suffered an ankle sprain injury which will make him miss next week’s game. McCarthy didn’t play a great game while completing 11/21 passes. He only completed those 11 passes with a total of 120 yards and threw 2 interceptions. He also had 5 carries which he ran for a total of 25 yards.
A big struggle for the Vikings this week was the offensive line which was one of the huge reasons the team only ran for a total of 78 yards. McCarthy was also sacked 6 times due to having a poor offensive line which made the pocket collapse on him very quickly. A big difference maker in the game was also how many turnovers the Vikings had, which was 4 and the Falcons only had 1.

The Vikings need to block out last game and lock in against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 3. Vikings have the home field advantage so it should be a great match up despite the fact that rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy will miss week 3.
