We are already into our 3rd week of school and still have many more to go. Most high schoolers can agree that fall is the best part of the school year. We have football games, homecoming week, and good weather which gives us fun events to look forward too. But, once it gets chillier and quarter 1 ends its hard to stay productive and happy while maintaining all of the stressors of school. Im sharing a few ways I make winter more enjoyable and hopefully you can benefit from these!

My first tip is staying active. Personally, I’m not in a winter sport, and this year I won’t have any off-season training so staying active is a easy way to stay productive. My favorite form of working out is “hot yoga sculpt.” Especially in the winter time on cold days, it’s a perfect way to warm up and sweat. Going in the morning before school is the perfect way to start off your day, because you get to start your day by choice instead of waking up and having to go to school. Another way to stay active in the winter time is going to the gym. I don’t go to the gym, but lots of my friends do and they love it.
Natalie Spoden said, “Crunch is the perfect gym, it’s cheap and has lots of equipment. I love going to the gym both by myself and with friends because it helps me feel like I’m making the most of my day.”

Spending time with your friends as much as possible seems like dumb tip but actually helps a lot. Surrounding yourself with your favorite people will always help and make every day slightly brighter. Planning out shopping trips, having fun dinners, and just hanging out gives you something to look forward too. My friends and I love going to the cities and shopping, as well as going to different sporting events to support our school!
Lastly, a small way to stay productive when your feeling lazy in the winter months is by keeping a calendar and planner. This can help you set goals and keep you accountable for finishing tasks. Journaling goes hand in hand with filling out a planner each week. Taking a few minutes either at the start or end of your day to write down your feelings is super helpful to relieve stress. Journaling also helps you reflect on your day; this is also beneficial for your mental health.
Hopefully these tips can help this winter go quicker!
