‘After Hours til Dawn’ tour: concert recap

My friends and I purchased our tickets in February and had to wait until the summer for the concert.

I was super excited for Playboi Carti to perform since he is one of my favorite artists ever. In past performances I saw how sometimes Carti will yell more when rapping instead of actually singing so I didn’t know what to expect out of his performance. Carti’s portion of the concert was a bit shorter but it was still really good. He did in fact sing instead of screaming the whole time which he still occasionally did but his voice sounded really good live. Carti played songs like Evil Jordan, FE!N, Sky, Shoota, 2024, Like Weezy, Crush, Fine Sht, Good Credit, Magnolia, HBA, Olympian,Timeless and Type Sht. I was happy with all the songs he played especially with the song Sky since it is from his older albums and it is my favorite song. I would rate his performance a 9/10 I reallt enjoyed it but, I do wish he played for longer.

The best portion of the concert was when the Weeknd performed. He has been one of my favorite for so long, and I started listening to him in middle school. The Weeknd in my opinion was one of those artists that sounded like the recorded song if not better in person. Usually some artists struggle with their acoustics in the U.S. Bank Stadium since it’s super echoey, but The Weeknd sounded amazing and the echoing didn’t affect his singing one bit. He also performed for what felt like ages and played a really good amount of songs. Not only did he play songs from his newer released album but songs from all of his other albums. He also had dancers on the stage for majority of his songs, they did a really good job along with the special effects and visuals that were on the big screens. It really brought each song he performed to life. The coolest part was for some songs he had fire effects where they would blast up from the stage, I could even feel the heat slightly from where I was seated. Over all his performance was one of the best I’ve ever been too, I would rate his performance a 20/10 I would definitely go to see him in concert again and I feel like it was worth my money 100%

The After Hours til Dawn tour is the last tour under the stage name The Weeknd, marking the end of that persona for Abel.(Natalie Spoden)
