With it being the last week of school, summer is just around the corner! If you don’t want to be sitting around inside doing nothing all summer then you came to the right place! I will be sharing my favorite activities I like and want to do this summer. Make sure to fill your summer with fun and no worries, that’s what it’s all about!

Last summer I went to Valleyfair, and it was such a blast. Not only did we ride all of the rides we also went on the water slides at the Water Park in Valleyfair. I definitely recommend driving down for a day of fun at Valleyfair if you love rides!

Nothing is better than spending the day at the lake. I love to drive a boat around when it is bright and sunny and when the sun is setting. My favorite thing to do on lake days is go tubing. Tubing is the perfect Minnesota Summer Activity! I love to go wild and crazy on the tube. There are various other activities you can do on lakes such as, surfing, knee boarding, water skiing, driving a jet ski, swimming, etc. I definitely recommend you at least have one lake day during your summer break!

My favorite time ever to be on the lake is when it is the 4th of July. Nothing will ever beat the feeling of spending the holiday on a lake. The past how many summers I have spent my 4th of July being on the lake the whole day.

Last summer in August, I went to the Hozier concert. It was so much fun and really gave me something to look forward to all summer. This summer I am going to the Weeknd & Playboi Carti concert. I am so excited and it is really making me more excited for summer to be here. I also have another concert I’m going to later in the summer in August. The band I’m seeing is Earth Wind and Fire. I am so excited, these concerts are definitely going to elevate my summer. I recommend to attend a concert or even a music festivals like Lollapalooza or Wee fest in the summer.

The Benton County fair starts July 29 and goes until August 3rd. It takes place on the fairgrounds in Sauk Rapids. It is the perfect place to go to in the summer especially at night. They have rides food games and much more!

The biggest fair of the summer is the Minnesota State Fair. Also known as the “The Great Minnesota Get-Together”. It is the largest State Fair in the US for its daily attendance. I haven’t gone for a couple of years, but I have been going since I was a toddler. There is so much you can do at the fair and there is so much unique and good food to try. Be prepared for a long day of walking though and there are bigger crowds of people but it is the best fair that I’ve ever been to0, by far.

The Quarries are a big attraction at Waite Park. Not only is the Quarries a great swimming place but it is great for going on long walks, and bike rides during the summer and fall. To go to the Quarries you have to pay around $5-10 for the day. I recommend if you live in the area to get a year long pass for only $25 it saves you a lot of money if you plan on going to the Quarries frequently.

There are two different places to swim at the Quarries. The first one is Quarry #11 which is a family friendly beach and is a bit more shallower than the other one. There are cliffs to jump off of at Quarry #11 but they are smaller and less scary. I recommend going here if you want to be at a beach and if you are scared of jumping off super high places. The second one is Quarry#2 this one doesn’t have a beach but it does have a. dock. There are higher cliffs to jump off of and the water is way deeper. This is where majority of high schoolers and college students go. I like to go to this quarry when I feel like jumping off the cliffs. There are no lifeguards so you are swimming at your own risk. The quarries is such a fun place to spend your summer days at!

On 4th Of July I love going to the firework show hosted in St. Cloud right next to the hospital. It is always my favorite way to end a good day on the 4th of July. My favorite part about firework shows is always the finale when so many fireworks are going off at the same time. I definitely recommend going to a firework show at least once during the summer.
