Murder charges have been filed against a 19-year-old in connection with the death of a motorcyclist on May 1st, 2025, on Route 102 in Litchfield.
Nineteen-year-old Burke is charged with manslaughter – reckless, negligent homicide, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated DUI – serious bodily injury, reckless conduct – deadly weapon, witness tampering and vehicular assault.
Burke was already charged with second-degree murder, but that charge has been dropped for some reason.
While he was driving a Toyota Corolla on Route 102 near Derry Road, police said that he struck a motorcycle while driving. Some investigators believe that Burke was trying to rear-end the motorcycle, but then lost control and slid into other lanes.
