A man was found shot dead inside a crashed car on April 19, 2025. Minneapolis police claimed this was the first homicide in two months.
The police were called with reports of gunshots and were sent to the 2000 block of West River Road North. Once the police arrived they found a man likely in his 20s fatally shot inside a car that crashed into a garage entrance of a large apartment building.
The man was identified as 27-year-old, Davione Daunte Charles Collins, of Maple Grove. His cause of death was identified as a gunshot wound to the neck.
The police have said that no one has been arrested yet but are still looking into the surveillance footage. Police are saying that this case is a little confusing because they can’t seem to understand why someone would commit a shooting crime when there are occupants all around the apartment building.
The police currently are asking for any information on the crime.
