Sauk Rapids Police Officer Andrew Jensen was placed on unpaid leave in December 2023 after allegations surfaced accusing him of sexually assaulting a child more than a decade ago.
According to the criminal complaint, authorities were notified of the abuse in late 2023, with the allegations stemming from incidents that reportedly took place in Morrison County during 2007 and 2008.
In March 2024, a formal complaint was filed in Morrison County District Court, charging Jensen with one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony offense under Minnesota Statute § 609.343.

Minnesota Statute § 609.343 covers second-degree criminal sexual conduct, which involves sexual contact (without penetration) under serious circumstances. These include if the victim is a child, if force or threats were used, or if the offender held a position of authority. A conviction for this offense can result in up to 25 years in prison.
Special agents from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension met with the victim, who reported being sexually assaulted by Jensen when she was approximately 6 or 7 years old, with Jensen being 16 or 17 at the time.
The report states that Jensen admitted to assaulting the victim multiple times over a span of six months to a year.
Jensen’s next court date is scheduled for May 19, 2025.
