From the chair incident at Eric Church’s bar in Nashville to the use of a racial slur in a leaked video, Morgan Wallen is no stranger to stirring up controversy in the media. And he has done it again.
After serving as the musical guest for the March 29, 2025 episode of Saturday Night Live, Morgan Wallen abruptly walked off the stage after giving Anora star, Mikey Madison, a quick hug, breaking the tradition of hanging out with the cast as the credits roll.
After the show, Wallen posted an Instagram story while sitting on the runway in his jet, writing, “Get me to God’s country.”
This post sparked an immediate response from many, quickly turning it into a meme. Some criticized Wallen for this action, calling him “rude” and “immature.” Others praised him, calling SNL “unfunny” and “demonic.”
It’s safe to say that Morgan Wallen stands with his choice to leave and is unbothered by the hate he is receiving because he added merch to his website with the words, “Get me to God’s country” printed on it.
The following week on SNL, Colin Jost wasted no time mocking Wallen for the abrupt walk off, saying, “Money is leaving the stock market faster than Morgan Wallen at goodnights.”
