SHS students were asked to vote for Teacher Awards, heres the results.

This article will give you a breakdown of all the awarded teachers.

Recently, the Sartell Yearbook Staff created 12 different awards. These awards were given for a Teacher Hall of Fame. Once the awards were decided, a google doc was sent out for all SHS students to vote for what teacher they think best fit each award. When the poll ended, Seniors Sophia Simonsen and Kennedi Gack and Junior Sophie Heathcote distributed the awards.

Most Chill Teacher - James Sinkel

Mr. Sinkel has worked at Sartell since 2021. He is a World History and Government teacher. Mr. Sinkel is always building bonds with his students and sharing laughs.

Most School Spirit: Marcus Oistad

Mr. Oistad has been a teacher at Sartell for 17 years. He coaches boys’ basketball and boys’ football. Mr Oistad shows lots of school spirit when he helped with Pepfest Activities such as the spirit stick and dressing up for Spirit week.

Gives the best advice- Michele Nelson

Mrs. Nelson has worked at Sartell for 15 years. She teaches English classes and runs the schools SAFE club. Mrs. Nelson always has students in her room chit chatting with her. Mrs. Nelson is amazing at being a listening ear for students.

Best at making class fun - Marty Anderson

Mr. Anderson has been a teacher at Sartell since 2009. He teaches math and finds ways to make it fun for students. He can be described as unserious and finds ways to connect the real world to his teachings.

Cutest Classroom - Kelsey Box

Mrs. Box has been at Sartell High school since 2017. She teaches English classes. Mrs. Box’s classroom offers comfort and coziness making her classroom stand out when you walk in the halls.

Most Caffeinated - James Weide

Mr. Weide has been teaching students at Sartell since 1994. He teaches science classes like Biology. Mr Weide said himself, “Gotta keep those caffeine levels up!”

Best Dressed - Sarah Crandall

Mrs. Crandall has been teaching at Sartell for 25 years. Mrs. Crandall also teaches science classes. She coaches the girls’ tennis team. Mrs. Crandall is always dressing nice and dapper.

School Dad - Luke Miller

Mr. Miller has been a teacher at Sartell since 2014. You can find him teaching the workshop classes like metals. Mr. Miller offers advice, bonds and jokes with students making him an amazing role model to students.

School Mom - Angie Heckman

Mrs. Heckman has been teaching Sartell students for 28 years. Heckman teaches a variety of classes such as photography and graphic design but is most known for teaching yearbook. Mrs. Heckman is always in a happy mood and is a great role model to her students. She will always have anything you need whether its a encouraging sticker or a hug.

Always Smiling - Vanessa Brenny

Ms. Brenny has been teaching at Sartell since 2019. She teaches gym classes like girls’ body toning. Ms. Brenny is one of the coaches for the track team. Ms. Brenny is always smiling big and offering a friendly face and a contagious smile.

Most likely to get mistaken as a student - Caleb Forberg

Mr. Forberg has been a teacher at Sartell since 2023. He teaches classes such as history and Geography. Many students comment and say that Mr. Forberg looks like a student. He even pulled an awesome outfit for Spirit week on the “dress like a student” day.

Always has snacks - Karrie Fredrickson

Mrs. Fredrickson who most students call “Freddy” has been teaching at Sartell for 29 years. She teaches classes like leadership, psychology and government. Freddy will always have what you need and is very giving. She is always making sure students needs are met.
