UW-La Crosse was founded in 1909 as the “La Crosse State Normal School.” Throughout the next few decades from 1909 to 2025, the school has made many renovation to better the university and campus. Some examples of renovation would be the making of its library, introducing new programs, and making new halls for students to live in.
UW-La Crosse is known for their science majors. Some popular majors are science majors like biology, chemistry, exercise sports science, and computer science. Along with those science majors, they also offer majors like finance, psychology, business, music, and so many other majors.

The acceptance rate to UW-La Crosse is 80% and has a minimum GPA requirement of 3.4 to 3.87 for first year students. Getting into UW-La Crosse is a little harder compared to more local colleges, but having a good essay and great letters of recommendation would definitely help.
