On Feb. 2 at 230 Second St. NE. in St. Cloud, a shooting happened that killed someone.
- The rapper, Layson Davis- 17 years old, who moved from Oklahoma to Minnesota to find peace and safety got shot and killed in St. Cloud. He moved from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Cold Spring, Minnesota, when he was 15 to start a fresh life after being shot in the leg.

- Layson’s family described him as an aspiring rapper and a compassionate, funny young man who always looked out for his family. They clarified that he faced many obstacles growing up. His songs reflects on his life and the challenges he had lived. He also loved his nieces and treated them as his own children. His family said that he was mature enough, but he had an emotional side to him.
- Layson cherished his mom more than anything, he even got her name tattooed on his arm. He also mentioned her in one of his songs which is “Crooked County.”

- Two of the murder suspects are still at large. Charges have been filed against Bernard Bowens, Olivia Williams, and Quinton McNeal for now. Sheriff Jeffery Oxton said that authorities are still looking for them. Residents of St.Cloud, Olivia Williams and Quinton McNeal, were arrested earlier this month for the alleged involvement in Layson’s homicide.
