The Sartell track team is excited for the 2025 season to start!
Upcoming 2025 Track season
The Sartell track team is preparing for their season coming up shortly where they wish to excel past their previous season’s accomplishments.
This won’t be an easy task, as the Sabres had a great year in 2024. The track team sent nine kids to state and participated in five different events. In 2024, juniors Ella Kirchner and Zoe Lain placed on the state podium, with Zoe coming in 9th and Ella coming in 6th. This year, six of the nine state attendees will be returning. The team intends on going back to state and improving their times from last year.
Jay participates in the 800M and 4×4 400M.
Drew partakes in the 100M dash and 4×4 100M.
Kellen participates in long jump and the high jump.
Ola takes part in shot put and discus.
Kennedi partakes in the long jump and the high jump.
Lexi competes in the triple jump and 4×4 100.
This year there will be 13 meets total. These meets will begin April 5th and end in May 31st. The schedule below showcases information of all 13 meets.

This season there will be several captains leading the team to success. Leading the boys team there will be seniors Jay Weitgenant, Drew McClellan, Ola Adetunji, and Ashton Kodet. There will also be juniors Lincoln Nordby, Grant Kurowski, and Issac Shafer. The girls team will be led by seniors Ella Kirchner, Zoe Lain, Sawyer Timmer, and Kennedi Gack along with junior Zoie Vorachith.

The final question we asked was –
After learning the preparations the team has been making this off season, it’s clear they’re on the path to success. The Sabres look to accomplish their goals and exceed past their previous seasons achievements. The track and field team is always looking for more players; go out and give it a shot. There are countless different events to choose from and speed isn’t the only important quality.
