Timberwolves take game 4 of the Western Conference Semi Finals

Game Summary

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the San Antonio Spurs 114-109 on Sunday night, taking advantage of Spurs star Victor Wembanyama getting ejected in the 2nd quarter. The series is now tied 2-2 and will go to at least 6 games. The Timberwolves did not have to deal with Wembanyama for very long on Sunday because early in the second quarter, while securing a rebound Wembanyama swung his elbow into the chin of Timberwolves Center Naz Reid. The officials in this game reviewed the contact and decided that it was a flagrant two foul which results in an automatic ejection from the game for Victor Wembanyama.

The Minnesota Timberwolves were able to capitalize on the Wembanyama ejection and win game 4 of the series. Anthony Edwards led the way for the wolves in this one with 36 points, 16 of those coming in the 4th quarter. Rudy Gobert also had a solid game with 11 points 13 rebounds. The game changed a lot once Wembanyama was out of the game because it allowed for the Timberwolves to get to the basket with ease and it allowed the Timberwolves to get more rebounds. In the final seconds of the game Ayo Dosunmu was able to draw a loose ball foul and he would go onto sink both free throws to secure the win for Minnesota.

Spurs Game Recap

The Spurs did not roll over in this one and they had players step up in Wembanyama’s absence. Rookie Dylan Harper had 24 points and Stephon Castle scored 20. These performances were not enough in this one though as the Timberwolves took a 114-109 victory. The crowd at Target Center went crazy when Spurs star Victor Wembanyama was ejected after receiving a flagrant 2 foul in the 2nd quarter. San Antonio will host game 5 on Tuesday and they will look to get back on track. Wembanyamas status for game 5 is still up in the air because of a possible suspension after throwing an elbow into Naz Reid.
