Information gathered from CBS, indicates recent controversy has arisen surrounding a scandal which may be more than nine billion dollars. The buzz about such fraud has gone fairly viral, in part, due to the fact that some well known political and social figures have brought attention towards the issue near the new year.

Information gleaned from CNN, indicates that another source found that the original video, that alleged Minnesota child care centers were embezzling money which was intended to be for low income families’ child care, had made claims with little evidence.

Information gathered from CBS indicates, however, likely as a result, Donald Trump has stated he is putting a hold on federal funding to Minnesota Child Care.

This is not the first time fraud has been alleged or investigated in the state though. Around five years ago, Minnesota had expensive fraud stories investigated at the federal level and 62/92 people were found guilty.

Information gleaned from CNN, indicates that officials from Minnesota have until the end of this week to provide the Trump Administration with relevant information regarding relevant people who receive and provide child care money.

On Monday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced that he will be opting out of the 2026 governors race. He put out a statement on Monday, and said that he had reflected on the topic over break. He claimed that he believed that he would be able to win if he gave it “his all.” He claimed that he did not believe that he could give it his all.

He is quoted stating, “Every minute I spend defending my own political interests would be a minute I can’t spend defending the people of Minnesota against the criminals who prey on our generosity and the cynics who prey on our differences.”
