Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 1, was released on November 26th, 2025, on Netflix. This is one of the most anticipated show season releases in recent years, and the fans are loving it and ready for the next volumes.

The first season of Stranger Things was released on July 15th, 2016, and has since become one of the biggest shows in recent pop culture. According to Buzzfeed, the show was rejected by around 15 to 20 different networks before Netflix finally accepted it. Stranger Things has been a Netflix exclusive show for its entirety and has had record-breaking viewership, such as according to CBS News, Season 3 being watched by 40.7 million household accounts in its first four days, and according to IMDb, the first four seasons combined have been watched for over 400 million hours in the first half of 2025 alone.

After an almost three-year wait, Stranger Things 5 is now released in the form of volumes. According to Netflix, Volume 1 was already released on November 26th, with episodes 1 through 4. Volume 2 will be released on December 25th with episodes 5 through 7, and Volume 3 will be released on December 31st, which will be the finale. All volumes will be released at 8 pm Eastern time.  

Even with the long wait, the run time of the episodes just about makes up for it. In Volume 1, runtimes are all around an hour long, with the last episode being an hour and 26 minutes long. Volume 2 runtimes aren’t officially released, and Volume 3 finale is rumored to be over two hours long, and according to Forbes, the finale will be played in theaters.

Stranger Things season 5 will be the last and final season, with the show being almost 10 years old. The main actors started when they were around 12 years old, and now they are all over 20 years old. The show is currently at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and has an 8.6/10 on IMDb.
