In a major event in the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, Kyiv has launched its largest-ever drone attack on Moscow.

The attack caused major damage to important buildings in the Russian capital. By this event, Ukraine has begun to make major changes to their military strategy. The drones hit important sites, causing fires and disrupting services, though the full extent of the damage is still being evaluated. Several high-rise residential buildings, houses and businesses were damaged by drones or falling debris, Vorobyov said.

While the Ukrainian government hasn’t given full details on the attack, this move shows how Ukraine is using advanced drone technology to scare Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not yet commented on the strike but has previously said Ukraine has the right to defend itself.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces shot down 343 Ukrainian drones overnight, in what appeared to be Kyiv’s largest cross-border aerial attack on Russia since Moscow launched its invasion in 2022.

At the same time, Ukraine and the United States are making another attempt at making a better relationship. The U.S. is working to get both Ukraine and Russia to talk and possibly end the war. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has showed support for Ukraine’s right to defend itself while encouraging both sides to talk in out and find a peaceful way to solve this problem.

Although there’s some hope for peace, it’s unclear if it will work. Ukraine wants its territory back, while Russia demands security guarantees and that Ukraine stays neutral. The drone strike on Moscow may make it harder for both sides to agree on a peaceful board.

As the war continues, the world is watching closely to see if these peaceful efforts lead to any progress or if the conflict will just escalate further.
