In the current world with the United States taking back Donald J Trump as the president once again, he has already begun his journey to making America great again. Trump has done many things to improve America but his most recent action has been tariffs. Trump has placed tariffs on all imports from Mexico, Canada, and China. The United States is imposing a 25% tariff on all goods imported from Mexico and Canada as well as doubling the tariffs for China.

This will lead to many disputes as well as economic warfare. Canada has already stated that they will be responding immediately to address this issue.

Fraser Johnson, a professor of operations management and the Leenders Supply Chain Management Association chair at the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business, said Tuesday: “If you’re going to place a tariff every time it crosses the border — whether that’s on parts or raw materials — that’s going to have a significant impact on the price of components that go into the car” and on end prices for Americans and Canadians.”

This tariff plan will both be positive and negative toward the United States. Prices will increase as it will cost more to transport and export goods from foreign countries. This is a price some Americans are willing to pay if it ensures safety to the country by lessening harmful drugs crossing the borders. By imposing these tariffs, the White House hopes to limit if not put an end to these drugs getting into the country. Adding tariffs will limit the amount of transports going across so if that is limiting transports, there will be less drugs.

Canada was very upset about these tariffs, and they have responded back. Canada has pulled all U.S. brands off of their shelves. Some people may think this is silly but it goes both ways. Canadians are favoring Canadian goods over U.S. goods

Canada’s decision to pull U.S. products from store shelves is a “very disproportionate” response to Trump’s tariffs, the maker of Jack Daniels said. Pulling U.S products will cause less sales in Canadian stores which will make less money. They are hurting themselves to get their point across.
