Norway may not be the most popular travel destination but that doesn’t mean it is not a great place to travel too! There are many different changes of scenery in Norway from the busy city of Oslo to the beautiful fjord town Trondheim. The things to do in each of the different towns is endless so here is a list of things to do and see in Norway!
MUNCH MUSEUM ✧✧✧
The Munch Museum is at the top of my list for many reasons but the main reason is because of the well known art pieces in it. When I went I was able to see two of the four Scream paintings which are a very popular art piece we learn about in school. Along with that, the museum building itself was super pretty and cool. The museum is super new and was opened in October of 2021 but was originally based in a different town in Norway where it was built in 1963.
OSLO OPERA HOUSE ✧✧✧
The Oslo Opera house is a very popular spots of tourists visiting Norway and this is definitely a must see spot. It’s hard to miss if you’re in Oslo because of its huge contemporary eye catching architecture right next to the Oslo fjord. Even if your not going to see the opera, you can still walk around the beautiful building and walk up to the roof for spectacular views of the fjord and the city.
TRONDHEIM ✧✧✧
Trondheim is a 7 hour train ride from Oslo and is a huge change in scenery. The journey there is very scenic and once you arrive you are immediately greeted by the beautiful mountains and traditional buildings in the area. I recommend walking along the Nidelva river to see the iconic colorful riverfront houses. I also recommend going to the countryside of Trondheim!
OSLO SIGHTSEEING CRUISE ✧✧✧
Another must do while in Norway is a sightseeing cruise in the Oslo fjord. You can choose what time of day to go on the tour for around an hour. During your time on the cruise you get to see cute little islands and enjoy the fresh air away from the city. I loved how peaceful the cruise was as there were not many people on the boat so it was almost to ourselves.
Although a trip to Norway may not be for everyone, I’m sure there is at least a couple of things that will intrigue you to visit!
