Lucy Conda, a junior at Sartell High School, has been successfully running her own small business creating and selling handcrafted clay earrings for over a year.

After getting her ears pierced two years ago, Lucy experienced difficulty finding affordable, hypoallergenic earrings that suited her style. Instead of settling, Lucy turned her challenge into an opportunity, drawing inspiration from other small businesses and platforms like TikTok to design her own unique pieces.

Most of Lucy’s sales come from local pop-up markets, including the Lemonade Art Fair, Art in Motion in Holdingford, the Makers Market in downtown St. Cloud, and various art pop-up markets in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She has also gained popularity within her school, selling her earrings to friends and fellow students at Sartell High School.

When asked about the future of her business, Lucy shared her ambition: “If given the opportunity, I would love to expand, but it’s definitely challenging.” Despite the hurdles, her passion and determination have helped her business grow steadily in the local artisan community.
