Anyone But You, the movie that put the popular 2000s song, “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield back on the map 20 years later, has been selling out like crazy at the box office.
In fact, Anyone But You is the first rom-com to sell more than 200 million dollars in tickets since 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians. Anyone But You is a heartwarming rom-com about two young people, Bea and Ben, who after one wonderful turned tumultuous night of events, realize that the mutual friends in their life are getting married, forever tying them to each other.
With Ben’s friend getting married to Bea’s sister 20 hours away from the United States in beautiful Sydney Australia, the intimacy of their situation forces them to pretend to be a couple for the long weekend. Throughout the movie, my friends and I laughed out loud in the movie theater, which thank goodness, it was just us in the theater.
Although the acting in the movie could have been better, the movie was still entertaining and steamy. The movie had the perfect balance of comedy and romance, and at the end it made me feel light. Overall, I would give the movie a 9/10.
