This past week, we visited the new Oblivion Coffeebar & Mercantile in downtown St. Cloud to try out their coffee and learn more about the history of the shop.
The owner, Hailey Koep, opened the coffee shop in early August in a vacant storefront that had been a wine bar for seven years. The building was built in the 1910s. The shop does not have your typical coffee shop look. It has velevet couches along with a space to sit at the bar, stained-glass windows, brick, and other vintage decor.
The menu has a variety of drinks, as well as baked goods from Christine’s Cheesecakes in Waite Park. They have iced and hot coffee, French and Italian sodas, and some teas.
Reviews of four different drinks at Oblivion are below:
Vanilla Iced Latte with Almond Milk (Brooke): 8.9/10, “I think that the latte could have had more of a vanilla taste to it, but still tasted great!”
Iced Caramel Macchiato (Atira): 8.7/10, “I think the caramel could be more mixed into the drink, but still comparable to most other places.”
Strawberry French Soda (Hannah): 9/10, “I didn’t like it at first, but it grew on me. It didn’t have an excessive amount of strawberry, which I liked in the drink.”
Iced Mocha (Hannah): 7/10, “I think that the Iced Mocha had too little coffee and was a little more creamer than I’m used to, but still tasted like very authentic coffee.”
We did not try any of the bakery items, or cookies, but would love to in the future on our next trip to Oblivion!
If you’d like to visit Oblivion and try out their great coffee, they are located at 27th Seventh Avenue North, St. Cloud. You can also contact them at 320-407-3995, and visit their website.
