Burger Battle Royale

This week on The Good, The Bad, and The Delicious, we Seniors™ traveled to two of the most notorious sit-down burger restaurants in the St.Cloud Area. Applebee’s has always been a notable burger place, that carries the sweet sweet memories of childhood, and resides in the proximity of the original GBD (Good Bad Delicious) restaurant love, Olive Garden. But does Applebee’s come close when compared to Red Robin, the other sensational burger place that lies just down the road? Let’s find out.

Applebee’s:

Apple bees is a large chain restaurant serving hearty American classics.

Upon entry of Applebee’s, we were immediately approached by two eager hostesses, excited to find us a seat. Although Applebee’s does garner high marks for their customer service, not much can be said for everything else. I had ordered the “Three Course Meal” which consisted of a Ceasar salad, mozzarella sticks, and a Bacon Cheeseburger. When the sign advertises a “Three Course Meal” for $11.50, one would assume that is what you would be paying for. We were sorely mistaken. I received a meager, lifeless looking Ceasar salad, four mediocre mozzarella sticks, and a burger that’s grease content that was so much, to the point where it can be considered unholy. I picked up my burger, and the grease from my patty was dripping onto my plate. Extremely unappetizing. I can’t emphasize how disappointing my experience was. I don’t think that there was one thing that I fully enjoyed, or even finished. French fries are also apart of a staple burger experience, and even those left me sorely disappointed. They tasted bland, soggy, and almost like they were microwaved. I will also add how my co-reviewer ordered a pasta, which can be compared to looking like vomit. I will never forgive Applebee’s for the disappointing food and their extreme pricing (I paid close to $35.00 for two meals that were advertised as $11.99 each). This Burger Battle Royale was no competition and will end in a massacre.

Our Consensus: You tried. Have better luck next time Applebees.

Red Robin is a gourmet chain burger joint that houses many American cuisine.

Red Robin:

We’ve got another godly experience here y’all, Red Robin came for throats today in this burger battle royale and I’m gonna say it, Red Robin reigns supreme. For $12.99 you get unlimited fries and an epic burger and it’s such a good deal on so many levels because the burger in itself is like a full 3-course meal and the fries are sprinkled with the most addictive salt mixture known to man and boy, I am not mad at them for it. I got a mushroom and swiss burger and this thing was loaded with garlicky, salty, amazing mushrooms and a beautiful melty slice of swiss cheese on a burger cooked to perfection. Now, before you say “Savanna, you can’t only say good things about this place just because it is literally perfection” just know, it is perfection so I will say nothing but good things about Red Robin. The only negative that there is about this place is that it gets busy real fast so, the solution? Order online, pick it up, and take it home with you!

Our Consensus: Perfection. You can’t ask for a better burger.

These American Classic burger hubs all are within 10 minutes of each other in St. Cloud.
