Putin ‘wins’ another 6 years

Vladimir Putin won six more years in office by a large margin last weekend in Russia, an expected win by most experts.

Putin won with over 76% of the vote, with his main competitor, Alexei Navanly, being barred from the race. Video records of polling places showed several abnormalities across Russia, with voting officials being seen stuffing ballot boxes with extra tickets.

Along with irregularities in ballots, voting papers were found in ballot boxes before polls opened and objects such as balloons often obstructed webcams viewing of polling stations.

Navanly, according to CNN, couldn’t “contain his anger” upon initial reaction to the news. He claims the current Kremlin manufactured claims of embezzlement against him in order to keep him out of the race.

Donald Trump congratulated Putin after his win this weekend, drawing criticism from many including Senator John McCain, who said it “insulted every Russian citizen who was denied the right to vote in a free and fair election to determine their country’s future, including the countless Russian patriots who have risked so much to protest and resist Putin’s regime.”

A leak has stated the Trump was instructed not to congratulate Putin after his win by National Security advisors before his call on Tuesday. According to a source from CNN, Trump is infuriated by the leaks that have come out of the west wing.
