The Drive

The drive up to Duluth felt like forever, but honestly, the views made every mile worth it. I was crammed into a sprinter van with 12 of my closest family and friends, the car ride was sure eventful. As we got closer, the tall hills were endless and we got an amazing view of Lake Superior. After a few “Are we there yet?” from my siblings, the long drive turned into a memorable part of our Duluth getaway.

Our first stop was at the Duluth Harbor North Pier Lighthouse, and it felt like walking into an old-timey town. We spent a good chunk of the time climbing around on the rocks, getting different views of the lighthouse with the backdrop of Lake Superior. I definitely recommend visiting because it is super family friendly with so much to look at!

We stayed at the Lutsen Mountains Ski & Summer Resort. The views from out cabin were absolutely breathtaking, especially with the vibrant fall leaves. The highlight of my trip was the ride up the mountains on the gondola. The beautiful bright trees covered everything with the red, orange, and yellow color. The breathtaking scenery created an unforgettable experience, and I hope to come back during the winter.
