This past weekend my mom, Nate Boesen, and I packed up the car and headed down to Chicago, Illinois to go see my favorite artist of all time, Beyoncé. Although the drive to Chicago and back was a long 15 hours, the 3 hour show that Beyoncé puts on is worth anything!

We started our drive on Wednesday afternoon, ending in staying the night in Middleton, Wisconsin. After getting some good nights rest, we headed to a local breakfast diner, and then we were back on the road for our final truck to the windy city.

Once we arrived in Chicago, we were eager to get some early dinner and to get ready for the concert.

After getting settled in at our hotel, we walked to get some Chicago-style deep dish pizza. It was so delicious, and I would definitely recommend picking up a deep dish when in Chicago.

After we got our amazing outfits on, we were ready for the concert. We were so excited to head to Soldier Field and see the queen, when suddenly we were informed that the show was delayed till at least 9pm because of a tornado watch.

Finally after waiting for hours, Beyoncé hit the stage at exactly 10:15pm. Beyoncé’s back up dancers are seen making their way down the stage, opening with COWBOY CARTER’s first track, “AMERIICAN REQUIEM.” Queen B then comes out to sing the first verse of the hard-hitting song.

With putting on an amazing show for 3 hours, Beyoncé played the majority of her songs off of her newest album, COWBOY CARTER, half of the songs off of her album, RENAISSANCE, brought back some of her older hits off of her albums Lemonade, I Am …Sasha Fierce, HOMECOMING: THE LIVE ALBUM, Dangerously in Love, 4,  and B’Day, and even did a rendition of the Jimi Hendrix Star Spangled Banner.

Some of my favorites that she played were ‘YA YA”, “MY HOUSE”, “If I Were a Boy”, “FLAMENCO”, “SUMMER RENAISSANCE”, “Daddy Lessons”, “I’M THAT GIRL”, and “ALIEN SUPERSTAR”.

Closing out her fabulous performance at 1am, Beyoncé finished off the show by flying in a car singing “16 CARRIAGES”, as well as performing “AMEN” while giving a heartfelt speech to the fans, thanking them for still being there, despite the unpredictable weather.

Overall, I thought Beyoncés COWBOY CARTER TOUR was a 10/10. Between Queen B and her backup singers vocals, the visuals, the stage design, the choreography, the costumes, and the overall vibe the show, I thought it was the best concert I have ever been to.
