All of these photos have been complied from teams and memories from my last two high school years.
I have been playing softball for as long as I can remember. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions, and sometimes they’re not good. Softball has taught me a lot of life lessons. It has taught me to never give up, sometimes I’m not going to get something exactly how I want it, and there are going to be bad and good days.

Some of the real consequences of high school are facing real-world problems and making yourself better for the future. This sport has taught me so much about my personality and how I handle different situations, whether they’re good or bad. It has taught me how to communicate and be a leader on a team, even if I don’t feel up to it. It has taught me to never give up when it gets hard. Softball is a game full of mistakes, whether you want to admit it or not, and the game wouldn’t work if players didn’t make mistakes. If I had a dime for every time I messed up in a game, I would be rich right now. I look back to when I was younger and the pictures and videos my parents have, and I just smile because it’s always been part of who I have been. There’s no taking this sport out of me.

I have played for an array of teams, including Sartell Swarm, Twisters, and Hype. I have loved being on every single one of these teams, and they all have special memories from each one. I grew up with all of the girls on Swarm, and they’ve come so far since we were all in 8u playing together. A lot of us are still playing high school together, and it will be my last year with all of them.
Twisters was the first team I went to after Swarm because I felt like I had outgrown it. The try-outs were chill, and it was my first taste of playing with other people. I had made a good friendship with three of the other girls, and we would do everything together, which included pictures, hanging out, and getting food after games. One core memory that I remember with them is that we were at a hotel, and there was a janky water slide in it. We would go after all our games later at night and stay in the pool, going down the water slide for a few hours until we all wanted to leave. Another memory from this team is when we won second place in the championship game towards the end of the season.
My Hype team was last summer when I was on. This team was everything that a state championship should be. We had good hitting, fielding, and an amazing catcher and pitcher. A core memory I have from this team is when we were at the state championship game, and there were seven girls in one hotel room, and we would just have the best time of our lives. We had little sandwiches and chips, and we just sat there and talked.
