Mexico’s hidden gem makes for a beautiful getaway

On the first day of travel, we woke up at 5 a.m. to prepare for the flight. At around 7 a.m., we left our house and headed for the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. Once we arrived at the airport, we went through TSA and headed to our gate at terminal 2 for Sun Country. The plane started boarding at 12:20, and at 12:45, we were on our way to Mazatlan! The plane ride lasted about 4 hours and 10 minutes, and we landed at around 3:20 MST.
The second day of travel from MZT to MSP was not as smooth sailing as the other day, we left our resort at around noon and made our way to the airport. We checked our bags and headed for TSA the second we got to the airport. At TSA we smoothly got through and headed for the gate. We waited about 2 hours before boarding our plane and this is where the issues come in. Our passports weren’t working. We all finally got on the plane and headed back home to Minnesota and landed at around 9 p.m.
In Mexico, they had several different kinds of food. Everyone expects them to have mainly Mexican food but they have more American food if anything. We went to different restaurants daily and the food was all amazing. I had a total of 3 caesar salads (correctly made) throughout the whole trip. The first restaurant we went to was MARYS for breakfast, I had a banana and Nutella waffle. The next restaurant we visited was Gus Gus. I had a Caesar salad with fresh parmesan – the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had – later in the week we went to this protein restaurant called Sweet & fit where I had a protein French toast topped with strawberries, bananas, walnuts, and honey along with an acai and coconut smoothie. We also went to this restaurant, Gaia Bistrot, where I had another Caesar salad served in a fresh flour tortilla bowl this time. My family then went to a restaurant called Roys I had my 3rd and final Caesar salad here. This salad was a chicken Caesar salad and was extremely good. We went to this Brazilian steak house called La Churrascaria Mazatlan at this restaurant we had a salad bar and the employees would bring you all kinds of meats. The last restaurant we went to was called Ristorante Villa Italia where I had a coca cola and a spaghetti bolognese. Every day at the poolside I would have a club sandwich.

As someone from Minnesota who doesn’t get to see all the fun and beautiful scenery around the world, going to Mexico was amazing. The scenery was beautiful. There were beaches, mountains, and the most amazing sunsets.
