TGIFF (Thank Goodness it’s Flannel Friday) Pt. 15

Sup readers! It has been a while since I have posted a Flannel Friday article, but I hope to hop back in the saddle and get these out weekly for you! This week’s edition is chock full of hilarious quotes, spectacular flannels, and loads of Sophomore flannel wearers! Check out some of the interviews below for a good smile!

First up on flannel Friday are sophomore Cooper Larson and Josh Huntington. Cooper and Josh like to wear flannels because they are warm, comfortable, and fashionable. In order to stay warm, they will wear flannels at any temperature below 40° or 30°. In their opinion, the celebrity that is most likely to wear a flannel is Chris Hemsworth. If Josh and Cooper were to name their flannels they would name them “Flanney.” These two obviously loves flannels and will continue to wear them every Friday.

Next is senior Nick Juntunen. Nick owns 3 to 4 flannels and likes them because they’re warm, look nice, and you can layer them many ways. He thinks the celebrity that wears flannels is “definitely Tony Hawk.” When asked to create a new word describing his flannel he scourged the question then said, “I guess I’d say fantabulous because… look at it.” If his flannel had a name, it’s name would be Jerome. Nick is a charming compassionate flannel lover everyone should strive to be.

These are sophomores Ethan Janzen and Abdul Wadood. Ethan owns 3 or 4 flannels, and Abdul owns a whopping 6 flannels! In Abdul’s opinion, Tom Cruise is definitely a groovy dude that would wear flannels. They would describe their flannels as “Funtastic” and “Awesometistic.” If the gentlemen’s flannel’s had names Ethan’s would be Rob and Abdul’s would be Tommy. The two will continue in their endeavors to wear flannels every Friday. It’s people like you that give me hope in this world. Keep up the flannel-wearing!

This is sophomore Morgan Van Beck! Despite being quite the flannel fanatic, Morgan only owns one flannel because she is a strong believer in staying monogamous with her flannel. She thinks Paul Rudd would be a celebrity that would wear flannels because he’s kind of just a vanilla guy. If Morgan were to make up a word to describe her flannel it would be (give me a break here you try and spell this) “supercomfluous” because it is both superfluous, which means extra, and comfy. Morgan will wear a flannel at any temperature below a brisk 70°. If she could name her flannel anything she’d would name it Frannel. There is no doubt in my mind that Morgan is one of the more interesting and passionate flannel wearers I’ve ever met.

Lastly, on this week’s sophomore stuffed list of Flannel Friday partakers is sophomore Zachary Elliott. Zach owns four flannels and his favorite thing about his flannels are the stripes. He thinks it is okay to wear a flannel only when it is a frigid -8° or colder out (oddly enough it was 9° above zero that day, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt because it felt like -11° with wind chill). Zach would describe his flannel as “Flannvigorous” because it is bright, vibrant, and full of energy! If he could name his flannel anything he’d name it THE Flannel. I think it’s safe to say Zach is a cool flannel wearer who explodes with swag every Friday!

As a bonus question asked to this week’s Flannel Friday participators, we asked them if they would support the creation of the Lumberjack Tuxedo. The Lumberjack tuxedo is similar to a regular tuxedo or a Canadian Tuxedo in that instead of wool/satin or denim, it is made of the material, flannel. If you would like to support the kickstart of the Lumberjack Tuxedo vote in our poll below voicing your opinions on this idea! Thank you so much for tuning in on this week’s edition of Flannel Friday! Stay classy readers!

What are your thoughts on the Lumberjack Tuxedo?

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 14, Reclamation Edition

IT’S BACCCKKKKK!!! That’s right readers, the beloved website favorite #Flannel Friday is back and better than ever! Nothing screams flannel weather like the picturesque images of bare trees, the scent of pumpkin spice filling the air, and the quiet tears of dreamers who wish upon a window scraper that the snow doesn’t come. Let’s take a look at this year’s first installment of Flannel Friday wearers.

First on our #FlannelFriday list is junior Nolan Wollum. Nolan owns six flannels. His favorite flannel is the red one pictured. To Nolan, he thinks it’s socially acceptable to wear a flannel when it’s chilly out. If his flannel were to say anything to him it’d say, “Wear me more.” When asked how genial his flannel is (not everyone I interviewed knew the meaning of the word genial), he responded with a reluctant 7 out of 10 then added, “Not overly genial… you know just a solid 7.” Overall, Nolan is a strong Flannel Friday supporter and can’t wait for future installments.

Our next Flannel Friday guru is senior Dylan Michaud. Dylan owns four to five flannels and his blue one is his favorite. If he were on a romantic date and he was to lay his flannel down in a puddle for anyone, he’d lay it down for himself. In Dylan’s opinion, Mr. Hoffman is the most likely teacher to wear a flannel on a daily basis. In response to the question On a scale of 1-10 how genial is your flannel?  he responded, “…what does that mean?” After being told the definition, he confidently answered, “9 1/2 probably.” Dylan will continue to wear flannels frequently, especially on Fridays.

Up next is sophomore Lydia Anderson. Lydia is a spirited flannel lover who owns a whopping six flannels! If she were to lay her flannel down for anyone, she would lay it down for her best friend (That’s so sweet! You know who you are, Lydia’s best friend! I wish I had a best friend like that…). When asked which teacher is most likely to wear a flannel she responded, “Mr. Walker definitely.” When asked, On a scale of 1-10 how genial is your flannel? Lydia wearily eeked, “9?” After being told the definition, she exclaimed with a reassuring, “Oh yes, definitely a 10 then.” There is no doubt in my mind that Lydia is a flannel lover.

P.S. Lydia, your flannel is my favorite of the week! I love the fall color on you; work it!

Our next flannel Friday connoisseur is freshman Ethan Schroers. Ethan proudly owns five flannels; his red and black flannel is his favorite. After much deliberation and some hard thinking, Ethan thinks the socially acceptable time to wear a flannel is in the winter. If his flannel were to say anything to him it’d be, “Do your best.” (I’d like Ethan’s flannel; it’d make it easier to get through grueling five day weeks.) On a scale of 1 to 10 on how genial Ethan’s flannel is, he said a solid 11 after looking up the definition of the word. I can see why Ethan loves flannel Friday. His flannels give him the confidence to be and look his best!

Nearing the end of our #flannelfriday list is junior Holly Wolff. Holly owns six flannels and the flannel pictured is her favorite. Holly would lay her flannel down in a puddle for her dog. Her flannel would tell her to wear her less. Holly thinks the teacher that’s most likely to wear a flannel is a tie between Hoffman and Henning. When asked how genial her flannel is she responded with, “Who whata whata? Probably a 5.” There’s no doubt Holly loves Flannel Friday!

And last but certainly not least, we have senior Aidan Speckhard! When asked when the socially acceptable time to wear a flannel is he said, “All the time! Except at a funeral…” If Aidan were to lay his flannel down in a puddle for anyone, he’d lay it down for Nick Juntunen. After a long pause of trying to think of something funny to say when asked if his flannel could talk, he finally responded with, “You’re hot, but I make you hotter.” In Aidan’s opinion “Hoff-daddy (aka Mr. Hoffman)” is the most likely teacher to wear a flannel. When asked how genial his flannel is he said, “How what? What does that even mean? Ummm… At least a 3.7?”. After told the definition of the world genial, he confirmed his 3.7 in saying he has a pretty depressed flannel.

Do your best!”

— Ethan's Flannel

Well, the first week of the reclamation of Flannel Friday was a resounding success! Please keep wearing flannels on Fridays or all days to show your support for Flannel Friday and a chance to be featured in next week’s edition. Happy Flanneling Sabres! #FlannelFriday

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 13

First up, we have senior Ellie Lehto. Ellie has too many flannels to count. Her favorite is green, and it has a funky shoulder. It is from “Free People,” which is her favorite brand. Five words to describe the comfy shirts are, “Cozy, green, cool, awesome, and nice.” If she could ask her flannel one thing and have it respond, she would ask, “What’s it like to be on my body?” and it would reply, “It’s great.” Her advice for flannel wearers is “Don’t over do it. I don’t know what that means, but just don’t.” Keep strutting your stuff, Ellie.

Next, we have sophomore, Lauren Lindmeier. When Lauren was asked how many flannels she has, she had to stop and count on her fingers. After counting, she said, “A lot. I love flannels. I have 19.” She can’t pick a favorite; however, Lauren is a huge fan of the one she is wearing which is her “Paul Bunyan” one. “My favorite type of weather to wear them in is a windy fall day. It’s just more fun in the fall.” If Lauren had to describe flannels in five adjectives, they would be perfect, amazing, radical, groovy, and beast.

That is legit a flannel in 5 words.”

— Lauren Lindmeier

We asked Lauren, “Do you pay attention to flannel in a significant other?” and she replied, “Oh yeah, definitely. He’s so trustworthy if he wears flannel.” If Lauren could give one bit of advice to flannel wearers out there, it would be, “Once, you start, you just can’t stop.” Keep rockin’ the flannel, Lauren.

Ending TGIFF this week, we have seniors, Kyle Cielinski and Ailsa Watson. Both are veterans at Flannel Friday. Ailsa has four shirts, and Kyle has 7-8 shirts. Both have their favorites, Ailsa’s is her black and white one, while Kyle’s is the one he is wearing. If either of them could ask their comfy shirts a question and have it reply, Ailsa would ask, “Do you prefer to be worn on Fridays?” and her shirt would reply, “Everyday is okay.” Kyle would ask, “How many buttons do you prefer to have buttoned?” and his shirt would reply, “Four.” Kyle and Ailsa have some pretty great advice for flannel wearers out there. Ailsa’s advice is, “Wear flannels whenever you want. Cheap and comfy.” Kyle’s is, “Walmart has really cheap flannels. $8, that’s where I get mine.” You guys are killing it, keep spreading that flannel greatness!

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 12

This week for Flannel Friday we had a short day of school as we were pummeled by a winter storm. Hopefully, everyone made it home safely and was able to bundle up in blankets by the fire while wearing a cozy flannel.

img_1779

This week we had a joint interview with four seniors. Emma Zenzen, Riley Sanderson, Kaleb Myhrwold, and Nicole Walters. Kaleb has six flannels, with his favorite being purple, white, and gray. Riley has one flannel, which is the one he is wearing. Nikki has three flannels, her favorite being green yellow and blue. Emma has six flannels, her favorite one is really thick, and it is grayish and red. When wearing their stylish flannels, Kaleb likes to wear his all the way open. Riley is in the same boat as Kaleb, and he thinks it is more stylish that way. Nikki prefers to wear it around her waist. Emma usually likes to button hers up, and she always wears a vest over her flannel. Kaleb’s favorite weather condition to wear flannel in is “any condition, because they are stylin’ and they are so versatile.”

Riley and Nikki like to wear their flannels in the fall months. Emma says, “See, depending on the colors, I have fall flannels and winter flannels. The winter flannels are heavier and maybe darker colors, but the fall is definitely the maroons and the nice warm tones.”

When asked if they have any advice for flannel wearers out there, Kaleb says, “The more flannels the better.” Riley has no advice.

Nikki says, “Always wear flannels.”

Emma answered, “Always wear flannels on Friday, but definitely the best flannels are always in the old men’s section at Savers.”

There you have it folks, these Flannel Friday interviewees have given you some great advice and a stellar example to prepare you for Flannel Friday every week.

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 11

Week 11 of Flannel Friday saw some very warm weather. More and more flannel wearers are presenting themselves in the comfortable clothing.

img_0080
Cullen Nelson is a freshman this year, and he has three flannels. His favorite is the one he is wearing, and it is red and black. His favorite weather to wear flannels in is fall(ish) weather. When asked if he had any advice for flannel wearers of the world he replied, “Ummmmm, no. Don’t wear it in summer?”

img_1697

Beth Bierschied, a senior this year, has six flannels, her favorite being her bluish, purplish flannel. Her favorite weather condition to wear flannel in is fall, because it is a fall outfit. When she is wearing flannel, she is really excited to start the day because flannels are just awesome, and they make her really happy. “You can’t have a bad day while wearing flannel, it just doesn’t work.” Her advice for flannel wearers out there is to “Make sure you buy a nice flannel that is your favorite color and you can wear anywhere at any time of the day.” That’s some good advice, Beth. I will take it.

img_0084

Garret Vansurksum is a junior this year, and he has one flannel. His single flannel is his dads, but it is still his favorite. If Garret had five adjectives to describe flannel, they would be: “Comfy, warm, soft, and uhhhhh, I don’t know…I can’t come up with five adjectives for flannels.” Garret’s advice to flannel wearers is “Make sure you wear flannel every Friday, and always wear them with khakis.”

It’s been a warm November, but it is only going to get colder from here! So be sure to whip out your flannels and keep warm!

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 10

Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday pt. 10 saw some colder weather, which is a good opportunity to get wrapped up warm and cozy in some flannel.

img_1673Starting off our week is senior, Cami Doman. Cami has two flannels, her favorite being her black and white one because it goes with everything. If Cami could ask her flannel one question and have it reply she would ask, “Are you glad that I bought you? Were you lonely hanging in the racks at Forever 21?” and it would reply, “Thank you for saving me; I am happy to keep you warm.” Her advice to flannel wearers out there would be, “Dress it up, dress it down, flannels are the best articles of clothing in town.” Agreed, Cami.

img_1674Up next, senior Nolan Boe. His favorite conditions to wear flannel in is definitely fall. When it is very mediocre weather, it is sunny, breezy, 55º weather, and all around Minnesota weather. If he had five adjectives to describe his flannel, they would be classic, comfortable, different, cozy, and stellar. His advice to flannel wearers out there, “Always hit up the thrift shops. There are lots of different cheap flannels out there in different colors. Always get a good variety of flannels.” Nolan has eight or nine flannels, his favorite being his red one. It’s always a good one. Lookin’ good, Nolan.

img_1671Finally, we have Tristen Nies. Tristen has five flannels, his favorite being his white and grey one. When Tristen is wearing a flannel, some really good emotions go through him. Probably the best, because they are always super comfortable. If he could ask his flannel one question and have it reply, he would ask, “Do you prefer to be buttoned up or unbuttoned?” To which his flannel would reply, “Unbuttoned.” Tristen’s advice for amateur flannel wearers out there would be, “Don’t go with the fake flannel. You need a good shirt under it, and try and choose a comfy one.” Take that to heart folks, Tristen knows what he is taking about.

That’ll do it for pt. 10 of Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday. It’s only a matter of time before the cold really sets in and the snow flakes start falling, so crack out your favorite flannel every Friday!

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 9

Week 9 of TGIFF saw a few great flannel advocates that deserve their spot, let’s check them out.

img_1479

You may know this first interviewee from his band Guytano. Senior, Grant Hamilton, kicks off Week 9 of TGIFF. Grant has about three or four solid flannels. His favorite flannel really depends on the day, but he feels as though his Woolrich one is industrial, modern, and he really likes it a lot. When asked if he had five adjectives to describe his flannel, Grant pondered for a bit and then replied, “Ballin’, swagged-out, beast, underrated, and awesome.” We here at TheLesabre agree with you, Grant, and we can’t wait to hear your band play at the Homecoming Tailgate on Friday, October 7th, 2016.

img_1478

Up next, we have our Editor-in-Chief here at TheLesabre, senior, Holly Greer. Holly’s favorite weather condition to wear flannel in is rain because rain is cold, and flannels are comfy. When asked how ambitious her flannel was on a scale of 1-10, Holly eagerly replied, “9.325.” We asked Holly, “In a race of flannel amazingness, who’s flannel would win? Yours or someone like Angelina Jolie’s?” Holly paused for a moment as she was briefly choking on something, and then quickly replied, “Mine, duh.” Holly said that she loves flannel enough to wear a flannel jumpsuit every day of the week. We here at TheLesabre can see your love and dedication towards flannel, Holly, and we appreciate you for it.

img_1476

To end TGIFF Week 9, we have junior, Laura Carlson. When Laura is wearing her flannel, she feels, “Cozy like she is about to go to the cabin, and everything is just warm, and it’s fall, and awesome-sauce.” Her favorite flannel is the one featured here because it is a dress and a flannel at the same time. We asked Laura, “If you could ask your flannel any question, and have it reply, what would you ask, and what would it reply?” Laura pondered for a long moment. She then said, “I don’t know…I don’t know…this is why you write things down and don’t do actual audio things anymore. I DON’T KNOW. What did other people do? Do you like the national days everyday? Then they would reply, yes.” After thinking for one more minute, Laura said, ‘OH WAIT, I GOT IT. How do you feel when you get a stain on you? And my flannel would respond with ‘Betrayed.'” Well Laura, we hope that your flannels stay stain-free and that you keep representing Flannel Friday.

That brings TGIFF Week 9 to a close. Thanks to everyone who participated, and we hope you have a fantastic Homecoming Week!

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 7

Week 7 of #FlannelFriday was very strong. Many kids at the high school are participating with this colder weather. Let’s take a look at this week’s people.

7-Jaden

The first person interviewed was junior and volleyball rockstar, Jaden Turner. Jaden prefers to wear her flannels buttoned up, four buttons to be exact. No more.  No less. Sometimes Jaden even wears a vest with her flannels because it adds a little bit of “flare.” Jaden owns five flannels. and her favorite color flannel to wear is black. Jaden wears flannel because she believes they are comfortable. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Jaden would describe her flannel, she replied with “Obviously 10.” I think this was a little bit cocky, but that’s okays she’s good at sports, so she can be cocky.

7-walker

The next person interviewed was a teacher here at SHS, Mr. Walker. He usually wears his flannels with the sleeves rolled up and untucked. Sometimes he wears the sleeves rolled down; it all depends on the temperature outside. He owns a lot of flannels, and his favorite colored flannels to wear are his earth toned flannels. Mr. Walker wears flannels because they are comfortable. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Walker would describe his flannel, he replied with, “What does that mean? Is that sarcastic? I don’t know what that question means.” Later on in the interview he told me that his flannels are “Rather, fairly, like a solid eight I guess.”

7-justin

The next interviewee was senior and my locker buddy, Justin Weyer. Justin usually wears his flannels unbuttoned, but if it’s cooler outside he will button it up. He owns exactly one flannel so his favorite color flannel to wear is the only flannel that he actually owns. He wears his flannel because his girlfriend, McKenna Walker, bought it for him and because he likes it. He believes it is very stylish, and he enjoys wearing cool colors. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Justin would describe his flannel, he replied with, “What do you mean?” Then he ended up saying that it is an eight.

7-grant

Next up is senior, Grant Olson. Grant prefers to to wear his flannels unbuttoned with no shirt under it, but with the school dress code, he is told that he must wear a shirt under it. This makes Grant sad. His favorite color flannel to wear is his blue and brown one, and he owns about five different flannels. Grant wears flannels because he thinks they are comfortable. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely he would describe his flannel, he replied with an 11. Again cocky, but that is okay.

7-mom

The last person interviewed for this weeks edition of #FlannelFriday was my mother, Connie Connor. My mom prefers to wear her flannels with jeans and a shirt underneath. Her and my dad combined own about six different flannels. She likes to wear orange and blue flannels because she claims it matches her jeans. She might be colorblind, but we are unsure of that. My mom wears flannels for the purpose of #FlannelFriday!! We are so much alike, and I love it. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Connie would describe her flannel, her replied with, “Oh, most definitely a 10.”

There are only a few more Fridays in the school year, so get your flannels out!

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 6

As it gets warmer outside, more and more people are lacking the flannel spirit. Do not fear; we still had some great flannels this past Friday.

6-rachel

The first interviewee was senior, Rachel Haider. Rachel would prefer to wear her flannels just normally, but she usually ends up just tying them around her waist. She loves wearing her red and black flannel, and she owns about five different flannels. Rachel wears flannels because she likes how they act like cardigans. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Rachel would describe her flannel, she replied with a sad 6.

6-dobis

The next person interviewed was junior, Brooklynn Dobis. Brooklynn prefers to wear her flannels unbuttoned and just as a shirt. She owns about six or seven flannels, and her favorite color flannel to wear is her red and pink one. She wears flannels because she believes they’re comfy. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Brooklyn would describe her flannel, she replied with a strong and powerful 10.

6-braeden

Next interviewed was senior, Braeden Dykhuizen. Braeden owns about five or six different flannels, and his favorite color flannel to wear is his blue one. He prefers to wear his flannels with the sleeves rolled up. Braeden wears flannels because he thinks they are extremely comfortable. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Braeden would describe his flannel, he replied with 7.

6-weide

Up next is junior, Katelyn Weide. Katelyn likes wearing her flannels around her waist or just casually as a shirt. Her favorite color flannel to wears her blue one, and she owns about seven different flannels. She wears flannels because she thinks they look really chill, and they’re super comfortable. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Weide would describe her flannel, she replied with, “of definitely a 10.”

6-Ailsa

The last person interviewed was junior, Ailsa Watson. Ailsa prefers to wear her flannels on top of a shirt that actually compliments the color of the flannel. She owns about five or six different flannels, but her favorite color flannel to wear is her fire red one. Ailsa wears flannels because she’s a colorful person, and she enjoys all of the colors in the flannels. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Ailsa would describe her flannel, she replied with a 9.5.

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 5

The first week of #FlannelFriday after Spring Break was a success here, but it was the fifth week overall for #FlannelFriday. Let’s take a look at the Friday school spirit throughout the entire school.

5-Aubri-Flannel

The first person interviewed was freshman, Aubri Akervik. Aubri owns three different flannels and she enjoys wearing them around her waist; a style that was very popular at the high school this past week. Her favorite color flannel to wear is a purple-reddish colored flannel. She stated that she wears flannels “just cause.” When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincere Aubri would describe her flannel, she replied with a strong and powerful eight.

5-Taylor-Flannel

The next interviewee was senior, Taylor Harren. She, just like Schulte and I, does not like when people wear their flannels around their waists. She prefers to wear them as an unbuttoned shirt. Her favorite color flannel to wear is her red one, and she owns about seven different flannels. Taylor said that she wears flannels because “It’s not too dressy, but you don’t look like you just woke up.” When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Taylor would describe her flannel, she replied with “Uhhhhhhh…… *cricket cricket*…. 9.5.”

5-Liz-Flannel

Interviewed next was junior, Liz Khalifa. You can figure out who that is on your own time. Liz prefers to wear her flannel on her body.  When asked how many flannels Liz owns, she replied with, “Somewhere around…. several.” She wears flannels because they are chill, and they are a very good accent to many outfits. Her favorite color flannel to wear is her green and blue one. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Liz would describe her flannel, she replied with, “Well, I mean we’ve been buddies for as long as I can remember, so how would I rate like a best friend or a mother?”

5-Alex-Flannel

The next person interviewed was junior, Alex Pringle. Alex doesn’t really have a preference when it comes to wearing her flannels. She will either button them or leave them unbuttoned. She owns about 20 flannels, but her favorite color flannel to wear is her blue and black one. Flannels are Alex’s favorite style of shirt to wear. She also wears them because she thinks they are super comfortable. When asked on a scale from 1 o 10 how sincerely Alex would describe her flannel, she replied with about a 9.5.

5-Rachel-Flannel

The last person interviewed was junior, Rachel Ruff. Rachel stated that Liz, as we saw earlier, likes to wear her flannels around the waist. Rachel herself has done that a few times, but she usually wears her flannels just as shirts. Rachel owns about four flannels, and her favorite color flannel to wear is her red and blue one. She wears flannels because she believes they are fashionable but also comfortable. She likes the fact that you can really dress up a flannel. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Rachel would describe her flannel, she replied with, “How sincere is my flannel? Sincere? My flannel is very sincere.” So, I would probably say her answer would be 10/10.

Week 6 of #FlannelFriday will be next Friday, April 15th. #GetPumped

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 4

The last #FlannelFriday before spring break was a success, many SHS students participated on Friday, March 18th. I’m loving the spirit people!! Let’s look at a few interviews:

Brooklyn

The first person interviewed for #FlannelFriday was freshman, Brooklyn Olson. Brooklyn prefers to wear her flannel buttoned, but not buttoned up all the way. She usually only buttons about two of the, sometimes three. She owns about five different flannels but her favorite one to wear is her red one. Brooklyn wears flannels because she strives to look like a cowgirl in life; I think she is doing a very good job on this. When asked, on a scale form 1 to 10 how sincere Brooklyn would describe her flannel, she replied with a solid 11.

Bang

The second person interviewed for Flannel Friday was our German teacher here at SHS, Mrs. Bang. Mrs. Bang own about four different flannels. She prefers to wear her flannels untucked, buttoned up with a t-shirt under it, and she enjoys having her sleeves slightly rolled up. Her favorite flannels to wear are the ones with some shade of blue in them. If Mrs. Bang could wear flannels everyday she would, but she doesn’t because they aren’t very professional. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincere Mrs. Bang would describe her flannel, she immediately replied with a 10.5.

brody

The next interviewee was freshman, Brody O’Hara. Brody stated that he enjoys wearing his flannels with jeans. That’s it. He owns about nine different flannels, and his favorite flannel to wear is his blue and black one. Brody wears flannels because, “They’re comfy and look cool.” When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincere Brody would describe his flannel, he replied with a 9.

Syd

Next up was junior, Sydney Dille aka dilly bar Syd. Syd prefers to wear her flannels with jeans, a solid colored shirt underneath while adding a cute necklace for an accent. Her favorite color flannel to wear is her green one  She owns four different flannels. She wears flannels because she loves the colors of them, because they’re comfy and also because it’s #FlannelFriday. I am proud of this girl. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincere Syd would describe her flannel, she replied with “Sincere? What does that even mean?” Then after asking some of her classmates how sincere they thought her flannel was, she came up with a final answer of 100. Off the scale, I repeat, Sydney Dille is OFF THE SCALE.

jaren

The last interviewee for this weeks edition of #FlannelFriday was junior, Jaren Martin. Jaren prefers to wear his flannels open and on his body. He usually wears the sleeves rolled up, but on occasion he doesn’t. After about three minutes of counting, I found out that Jaren owns seven and a half flannels. The short sleeve flannel only counts as half of a flannel. His favorite flannel to wear is his black and white one; he does enjoy wearing the blue one at times, but the black and white one takes the cake for being the best. He wears flannels because they’re comfy, warm, casual and great. “Casual but cute.” When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincere Jaren would describe his flannel, he replied with, “What?” Then, after he looked up the definition of sincere and asked his flannel if she loves him, he finally replied with an 8. Overall a great last interview.

Week 5 of #FlannelFriday will not take place until Friday, April 8th. For those of you who do not own any flannels, this gives you a lot of time to get one! So go grab a flannel and GET PUMPED for April 8th.

TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) Pt. 3

Week 3 of Flannel Friday took place on Friday, March 11th at SHS. The flannel spirit throughout the school was weak, but I still have faith in the high schoolers. With the weather getting warmer, many kids are losing the flannel thought. Regardless, there were still some sweet flannels. Let’s take a look.

emily

The first person interviewed about #FlannelFriday was the freshman, Emily Scarff. When asked how Emily prefers to wear her flannels she answered with, “Like a shirt?” I then had her elaborate more on it and found out that she wears them unbuttoned. Emily owns so many flannels that she can’t even count how many she actually has. Her favorite color flannels to wear are blue, red, or blue with red in it. Emily wears flannels because she believes they are super cute and comfortable. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Emily would describe her flannel, she replied with a strong and confident 10.

The next person interviewed was the freshman, Rachel Ditmarson. When asked how she prefers to wear her flannels she replied with, “Like on, definitely not around my waist.” Her favorite color flannel to wear is the one that she was wearing last Friday, which was her blue and white one. She also owns about four or five different flannels. She wears flannels just because she simply likes them. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Rachel would describe her flannel, she replied with, “What do you mean by that?” After explaining, she had a confident answer of 10.

As the day went on, I interviewed senior and insane hockey player #31, Keenan Lund. Keenan sadly owns only one flannel, but I think it would be a good investment if he were to take a little trip over to Savers to snag a few more flannels. He prefers to wear his flannel buttoned up with only the very top button unbuttoned. Kennan has a very colorful personality, and that shows through his favorite flannel to wear, which is navy blue, orange, and red. Keenan does not usually wear flannels, but he does agree, it’s cool to wear flannels! When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Keenan would describe his flannel, he replied with a fragile 5.

The fourth person interviewed was a freshman, Avery Atkinson. Avery prefers to wear her flannel under her North Face bubble vest. She owns about 20 different flannels. She’s a very experienced flannel owner! Her favorite color flannel to wear is her red one, and she wears flannel mainly because of how comfortable they are. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Avery would describe her flannel, she replied with “a solid 9.5.”

The last person interviewed for week 3 of #FlannelFriday is a very important person. Myself! I am a senior at Sartell High School, and #FlannelFriday is my life. You can catch me in a flannel every Friday.  It is the best idea anyone has ever had, and I’m very proud of myself. I own five different flannels, but my favorite flannel to wear is my green one. Senior and D1 bound athlete, Clare Minnerath also loves when I wear my green flannel because, as those of you who played powderpuff last fall would know, one of my nicknames is Green. I will wear my flannel unbuttoned, buttoned, backward, tied around my head, as pants, but I will NEVER wear it tied around my waist. Mr. Schulte would be very proud of me. I wear flannels because of #FlannelFriday and because I think it’s a genius idea. If I were to be asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely my flannels are, I would definitely reply with a 9.85.
