Feature Freshman of the Week 3

The rookies of the year are here. One of the biggest problems I faced when I first entered high school was the transition of originally being the big fish in a small pond to being the little fish in the high school. Freshman seem to be looked down upon like it is their fault that they have no idea how the high school halls work. BUT, nonetheless, they are still people trying to find an identity. This is why I have decided to highlight these freshman and show them to the high school. So, let's meet the newbies!

This week I sat down with a freshman by the name of Cameron Boe.

Cameron is the youngest of the family of four.  Cam enjoys playing football and is quite the avid weightlifter. He was the longsnapper for the varsity football team. He plans on going D1 to Iowa to play football.

High school has been treating him “pretty good because it’s a lot better than the middle school because you have more freedom and the classes are better.” This reason is starting to become quite the trend for the rookies of the year as they make the transition to high school life!

Cameron Boe’s favorite part of high school is “all of it.” Cameron is loving his time at the high school and enjoys coming to school. He is not a fan of the high school’s food though.

Cameron Boe is transitioning very well and should have a great high school life. I hope for all our freshman that high school is wonderful even though it can be scary at times; it is what you make of it and can be the most fun you ever have. His secret to success is having older siblings in the house who have been through high school.

Once again the question has been asked “Who is your Senior Crush and/or Freshman Crush?” Cameron became very embarrassed and did not want to reveal anything, so I altered the question for “Upperclassmen Crush” and a resounding “MARISA MURPHY” was shared. Cameron Boe is a quick learner and quick adjuster to the new high school life. He loves life in the high school and is happy to spend the next four years of his life here.

Tune in next week!
