The Bronx is located in the heart of New York City.

On TikTok, a new dance is based on a tragic event.

I was binge-watching TikToks and a video came up on my for you TikTok page.  I didn’t know what they were talking about until I saw the hashtag and clicked on it. From what I read from the TikTok, people are making fun of a 14-year-old who got stabbed and are making a dance out of it with the diss track.

Notti Osama, real name Ethan Reyes, was the one who got stabbed to death on a train in July.

Ethan was the youngest of six and started a career as a drill rapper, releasing numerous tracks with his brother DD Osama. The genre for this music is lyrics taunting other rivals, which was believed to have sparked the fight.

At 3 p.m. on July 9th, Notti was stabbed after a fight with a 15-year-old rival. He was taken to the hospital but later died at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital. The accuser has been apprehended by police. He is accused of first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession. The 15-year-old rival was charged with second-degree murder. But that changed when prosecutors found out that Ethan’s friends had been concerned that the accuser cornered him with a broomstick.

The line in the dance where Kyle Richh says “punching my hips”  was a reference to Osama being stabbed. The dance that everyone is doing is to copy a stabbing motion. The dance has spread through this month of October of TikTokers doing the dance. Teachers are unaware of it and kids are taking advantage of them by making the teacher do the dance as well as police officers.

On October 9, in response to the Notti bop, DD released a diss track called back to back. The song did not diss anyone, but rather served to redeem Ethan’s name.
